"This lyrical, colorful, and simple book goes a long way toward explaining and describing the months and days that led up to the feasting that the settlers and the Indians eventually shared. Told in rhyme, with realistic illustrations perfectly complementing the text, the book approaches Thanksgiving from its roots:

'This is the Mayflower, sturdy and strong, Her sails skim the skies as she journeys along. These are the Pilgrims, down on their knees, seasick and frightened on rough, rolling seas.'
