BIOGRAPHY
Peter Roop was born in Winchester, Massachusetts in 1951. Growing up in Memphis, Peter became fascinated with reading and writing. He often spent the hot summer days playing baseball, swimming, and reading his favorite books. A geology major in college, Peter became a teacher after tutoring students after school. Peter taught for 25 years in Wisconsin and overseas as Fulbright Teacher in England. He was named Wisconsin Elementary Teacher of the Year and Wisconsin State Teacher of the Year. Peter's travels have taken him to all fifty states as well as Asia, South America, and Europe. Peter currently writes and speaks fulltime.
Connie Betzer Roop was born in Elkhorn, Wisconsin in 1951. Her childhood dream was to see her name in the library card catalog (now a computer!) That dream has come true! Connie was a geology major and has taught science for 30 years at high school and middle school. Connie taught in England as Fulbright Teacher. Connie has traveled with students to Belize, Russia, Japan, and Australia. Her goal is to write many more books, read many books, and see many more countries.
Peter and Connie have two children, Sterling and Heidi. Both expert travelers, their trips have found them high in the Himalaya mountains, climbing in Patagonia, doing archaeology in Afica, sailing a boat from Tahiti to Hawaii, and researching glaciers in the Arctic. Maybe someday they will shares their adventures in a book!
