PROGRAMS
Morrison engages students with the process behind writing and illustrating non-fiction books. Children see paintings, storyboards and sketchbooks full of drawings and notes. A Power Point or slide show documents the years of research to make accurate and beautiful books. Taylor teaches art techniques by having students participate in interactive drawing lessons.
ADDITIONAL PROGRAMS
Story Board Workshops
It is a challenge to write about facts without being boring! Morrison shows students how to dive into factual information and make it interesting. He guides students through each step of the book making process. Children and adults are taught how to refine their own non-fiction ideas, create storyboards, research efficiently, edit, and layout a dummy. Intimidating words like design and composition are clearly defined.
A WORD FROM TAYLOR MORRISON
"Creating factual books and drawing realistically require the development of precise powers of observation. Drawing and Painting illustrations by hand is an art form that is fading away, but kept alive in picture books. It is a fantastic art form that combines ideas, art, and storytelling."
