BIOGRAPHY Christine Petrell Kallevig is an author and professional storyteller who specializes in presenting programs and writing educational materials, children's fiction, and Storigami. Even though she travels the globe folding paper and telling stories, she did not learn Japanese paper folding techniques until she'd already written two novels and acquired a husband, a dog, two sons, a house, and a dusty red mini van full of baseball junk. Origami hit like a lightning bolt, though, and completely changed the direction of her creative work. Born in North Dakota, raised in Minnesota, educated at the University of Kansas and the University of Georgia, Christine also lived in Florida and Indiana before finally settling in Cleveland, Ohio. She's worked professionally as a Registered Music Therapist, a teacher of both learning disabled and intellectually gifted students, and was the publisher of a magazine for parents with young children. Now, more than 20 years after Folding Stories, her first Storigami book, was published, Christine has the same husband, a different dog, the same sons, a different house, and four more Storigami collections for you to enjoy! She's also happily down-sized from her dusty red mini van, but her smaller car is so full of books and giant origami, there's no room for baseball junk anymore. Visiting schools, meeting students, presenting professional workshops all of these are almost as much fun as hitting home runs, anyway!
